Ginevra Dabalà returns with her new single “Bidonville”
With “Bidonville”, the third original single by young singer-songwriter Ginevra Dabalà, her artistic journey continues to evolve, driven by authenticity, expressive depth and growing musical maturity.
Following her first releases, which were deeply introspective in nature, Ginevra broadens her perspective by addressing an important social issue. The song tells its story through the eyes of a teenage girl living in a world shaped by poverty and marginalisation, transforming a tale of vulnerability into a universal message of hope, dignity and the possibility of a better future.
Delicate yet powerful, the songwriting avoids sentimentality, allowing empathy to take centre stage. It further confirms Ginevra’s sensitivity as a writer and her ability to convey emotions and stories with a voice that is both personal and authentic.

The musical production is the result of a collaboration with musicians Giacomo Perosin and Damiano Stellin, with whom Ginevra has developed a well-established creative partnership. The project was coordinated and produced by Cristiano Zatta at San Giacomo – Spazio d’Arte, the recording studio of ImageSonika.
From a musical perspective, “Bidonville” embraces simplicity. Its deliberately understated arrangement captures the warmth and spontaneity of a live studio performance, allowing the strength of the composition, the dialogue between the instruments and Ginevra’s vocal interpretation to lead the listener through the song.
Behind this apparent simplicity lies meticulous production work, carefully focused on achieving the perfect balance between voice and instrumentation. Every musical element has been shaped to highlight Ginevra Dabalà’s natural expressiveness, showcasing not only her vocal ability but also her growing maturity as a songwriter, composer and musician.
With “Bidonville”, Ginevra Dabalà delivers her most accomplished work to date, a song that combines compelling storytelling, heartfelt interpretation and an essential production style, leaving space for the true power of music and words to shine.

“Bidonville is my third original song, the result of a meticulous and inspiring creative process that has helped me grow as an artist and encouraged me to explore new musical directions.
The song was inspired by a documentary about life in the world’s shanty towns and places whose realities are rarely spoken about.
What struck me most was the story of a girl my own age. Her gaze reached far beyond the corrugated metal walls around her, reflecting her desire for a better life, her dreams, her ambitions, and the struggle of feeling invisible. Her eyes sparkled with the light only a teenager can have, yet behind them there was also a veil of sadness.
I decided to dedicate this song to her, trying to imagine the world through her eyes. It began as a simple idea written on my guitar and has since grown into something unique thanks to the arrangement created together with my friends and fellow musicians Giacomo Perosin and Damiano Stellin, and producer Cristiano Zatta. The finished song truly represents who I am as an artist.”

of the journey we’ve shared,
and of where it has led us with the sound of Bidonville.
I’m also excited to keep exploring new ideas,
refining my musical style and making it increasingly personal.“
