Dodici Sieri (Twelve Serum)
A Cry for Dignity
One Composition, Two Perspectives

Dodici Sieri is a cry of pain against a denied, trampled and ridiculed right.
It is an act of liberation, a plea for respect and dignity.
It also stands as a prophetic sign of what would unfold only two years later, an event that would profoundly disrupt human life across the entire planet.

A powerful, intense and deeply emotional piece, yet at the same time gentle and melancholic, Dodici Sieri was composed by Luca Francioso during a particularly difficult period of his life. The guitar, together with the double bass, alternately laments, emphasises and reacts, while the clear and distinctive melody, set in counterpoint with the cello, softens the atmosphere and offers a sense of hope to the listener.

Luca Francioso chose to present the same composition through two distinct musical souls, almost as if illustrating two different perspectives that emerge from the same inspirational source.
The first soul, performed on acoustic guitar, seems to accuse, challenge and fight against what is perceived as an act of injustice.
The second, performed on classical guitar, expresses a nearly suffocated state of mind, gentler in tone, yet no less painful than the first.

This recording was among the earliest projects produced at San Giacomo - Spazio d’Arte for ImageSonika, and holds both historical and personal significance as the first collaboration with artist Luca Francioso.

The artistic production, curated by Cristiano Zatta, was based on an initial experiment aimed at fostering collaboration between two artists whose musical languages are, in some respects, quite distant from one another, Luca Francioso and PandolfoPaolo, in the creation of a shared artistic work.

Cristiano Zatta also oversaw the recording, post-production and mixing of both versions of the piece.

The release additionally includes four poems featured in the booklet accompanying the work. These texts of protest and condemnation, expressed through direct language and powerful imagery, reveal the full depth of the artist’s pain and suffering.
